Did you know that many well-known landmarks in Kuala Lumpur were also important battle sites or administrative centers during the Japanese occupation in World War II?
In May 2025, a new book by Loke Pooi-choon, titled “The Historical Remains of WW II in Kuala Lumpur”, was jointly published by the Centre for Malaysian Chinese Studies and PESAWA.
The book documents 17 representative World War II heritage sites in Kuala Lumpur, presenting them through rich photographs and accessible explanations that shed light on the history of the Japanese occupation and the atrocities committed during that period.
You are warmly invited to attend the book launch jointly organized by the Centre for Malaysian Chinese Studies and PESAWA, and learn more about Kuala Lumpur’s World War II history.
